Privacy Policy
Last updated June 2026
Your privacy is the foundation of Emma. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the control you keep over your data.
Information we collect
We collect the account details you provide, such as your name, email, and company, and the content you choose to give Emma, such as your knowledge base and conversations.
We collect basic usage information needed to run and bill the service, such as message credit usage.
How we use your information
We use your information only to provide and improve the service for you: answering on your behalf, managing your account, and billing usage.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with other businesses.
Your data stays yours
Your business data lives in an isolated database instance, separated from every other client.
Your data is never used to train any AI model. All model access runs through providers under agreements with training opted out.
We keep no backups or shadow copies of your business data. If you delete it, it is permanently removed.
Your rights (POPIA and GDPR)
Emma is built to comply with South African (POPIA) and European (GDPR) data-protection law.
You have the right to access, correct, and delete personal information held in your account. Contact us to exercise these rights.
Self-hosting
For enterprise deployments, Emma can be hosted on your own infrastructure so that all business and conversation data remains entirely with you.
